This is a deep amber orange wine, very orangey indeed with dried apricot, papaya, thyme, hazelnut. bonkers and interesting but genuinely a great way to start and evening with olives and charcuterie.

Georgia has been producing and thoroughly enjoying imbibing for significantly longer than many of the worlds top flight regions. We just didn’t have our eye on their crazy ball. They make plenty of “normal” wine - albeit from their own native grapes. They also never lost the ancient method of leaving white skins on white wine grapes - making it orange and then often fermenting and maturing in an amphora - allowing it to get funky.
This wine is deeeeeeep in colour - be prepared to take a ribbing from your mates but also be prepared to take a taste back in time. This is an ancient method, from an ancient winery from indigenous varietals. Stick that in your christmas stocking!
