The orange wine aficionados were up in arms at this one. The reason - there’s loads of it. In general orange wine is defined by it’s small production but this is not a legal requirement. Englishman Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira have everything they need. Vineyards dating from 1447 brimming with incredible native varietals and farmed organically. The wines ferment on their natural yeasts and no sulphur is added. They just have the capacity to make plenty and land value, production costs and economies of scale mean that they can make it at a great price.
In the same way that a £10 Sauvignon Blanc is no Sancerre but is still a bloody good glass of wine, this is a great way to test the orange water and see if you want to dive in!
