This lovely wine stemmed from Maria and Pep Barrena’s dream to rescue old parcels and vines that had belonged to their family. The project has been a great success, from producing beautiful, concentrated low-yielding fruit which grows in a balanced ecosystem and to establishing their own experimental winery. To make Oniric Brisat the old vine Xarel-lo fruit was fermented on its skins for 18 days whilst the Parellada was directly pressed, after fermentation the blend then spent 6 months in clay amphoras. Such a drinkable wine which pairs easily with a variety of foods.

Oniric is a word in Catalan which means ‘dreamer’ and refers to Maria and Pep’s vineyard and winery dreams. So why the flamingo with its head in the clouds? The clouds symbolise the dreamer and the bird symbolises wildlife in the vineyards both a sign of life and a balanced ecosystem thanks to their honest and organic farming methods.
