Graziano Pra is renowned for his world class Soave from his family-run winery, at the start of the millenium he found the land he was looking for to fulfill his dream of producing red wine, and so another Pra success story began. Amarone della Valpolicella embodies Graciano’s skill, carefully managed vineyards without a whiff of chemicals, and skillful vinification. Grapes are dried in a fruttaio (drying room) for 2 months, then macerated and fermented followed by malo-lactic fermentation in Allier Barriques and tonneaux for 2 years. The wine is deep and complexly layered with fruits, spice and mocha with the most luring and lasting finish.
Graziano Pra is one of those phenomenal humans who carries the torch of quality and sustainability with an air of natural necessity. Instigated by his father and grandfather before him, he is taking vineyard practices to organic certification as we speak. Not because it’s cool or commercially wise but because it’s clear that there is no other way to produce something that is good for the planet as well as tasting great for us.
Graziano is a member of the Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (FIVI) – the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers – as well as of the Vignaioli del Soave association, both of which aim to respect the environment, implement less invasive winery practices, preserve the high quality of grapes and guarantee a certified supply chain for consumers. You will start to see these logo’s appear on their labels soon.
