Fabien Jouves "Tu Vins Plus aux Soirees"

This is a perky, vibrant cheeky little red. not at all what you would expect from Cahors - the hot dark heart of rural France. This is where the hand of the winemaker comes in. In declaring the wine VdF (vin de France) Fabien can pull in some merlot to brighten things up. Then in vinifying the fruit in whole bunches, rather than pressing, he preserves freshness. Then a bit of time fermenting in large concrete and old oak barrels tah-dah-ooh-la-lah. fun juice. Not at all flippant it’s laden with blueberry, raspberry a little dark chocolate and lick of oily green herbs. A really joyous red great with Charcuterie , Tapas as well as loving a bit of BBQ char.
