Prà, Veneto, Italy.

We’ve stocked Graziano Prà’s wines for years. I’ve met members of the family briefly a couple of times in the rush of busy trade tastings. I knew their wines were great… I knew they’d converted to organic production some time ago. But it was only when I set about re-visiting some of our producers in light of our new philosophy to source good wines, made sustainably by good people that I dug a little deeper.

The first thing you see when you click onto Prà’s homepage is this quote:

« … Producing food is a gastronomic act. To be a source of pleasure, food must be good but also clean and fair: it must be the result of sustainable agriculture, respectful of the environment and the dignity of workers. When we buy food, we also choose an agricultural model. It is a fundamental question that determines the future of the planet, its survival or its destruction. "

Yeah… Graziano Prà is our kind of winemaker alright. And if traditional winemaking championing native varieties meets organic, ethical production is your bag then we think Graziano might be your kind of winemaker too…
